Nowhere Land
or "Unknown Land" generally means a place that is far away, unknown or intangible. It can also mean a state of being between reality and imagination. But for this exhibition, in my opinion, it means any place, not specified. It does not have to be a significant place or a popular place, etc. No matter where I am, I can take pictures. I just need to see what I want to take a picture of and have a camera in my hand ready to take a picture. This photo exhibition shows photos taken in different places without specifying where they are. But the photos that are taken are the result of the beauty that I see, want to take a picture of, and create the images, as shown in this photo exhibition.
Background of this exhibition
I am an amateur photographer and collect old cameras. I like them, but not old cameras that are valuable or popular. I spend 6 days a week off work, leaving only Sunday, when I have the opportunity to take photos as I want. When I have photos, I post them for my friends to see. I mostly post them on Facebook. MONOCHROME is a coffee shop with empty walls for those who are interested in showing their work, whether they are photos, paintings, or any art, to show in the shop. The exhibitors change once a month. The owner saw my photos that I displayed on Facebook regularly, so he contacted me to show my work at the shop. He gave me a rough idea of the photos, saying that he wanted photos from old cameras that most people don’t often see. He thought that these old cameras might not be able to take photos anymore. He saw it as a good opportunity to have fun with the shop and show my photos this time. He selected photos that he had taken before and added some new ones. He got quite a few photos, but too many to show them all, so he had to cut some of them out.
UnSelected photos
This is my first solo exhibition. However, since there are so many pictures in various forms and using different sizes of cameras, they don't seem to have much in common, so I decided to leave only Photos taken with a medium format camera only, plus the size of the shop and the amount of money in the wallet, the selection of photos from the selected photos occurred. The photos that were easy to select were those that were not taken with a medium format camera. The next difficult photos were those taken with the same camera. To leave only one photo for one camera, it was very difficult to select. Some photos were very regrettable but had to be cut out.
